Sometimes Chromebook may corrupted, this situation you can easy to recover your Chromebook by reinstalling chrome OS. But reinstalling the OS will be erased all of your data so that you have to make recovery media for Chromebook.
Create Recovery media
Following steps guide you to create Chromebook Recovery media:
- Go to some other computer and install the Chromebook recovery utility in chrome browser
- Open the installed recovery utility click Get started button to move next step
- Enter your Chromebook device model or you can directly select from dropdown and click to continue
- Connect USB flash drive or SD card in your computer and click to continue
- Now recovery media will be created in your USB flash drive or SD card
Once recovery media is created will be notified and you can remove the USB or SD card from computer. Please note you need to have 4GB free space of USB or SD card to create this recovery media
Restore Chromebook
Following steps guide you to restore the Chromebook OS:
- Reboot your Chromebook devices and you will received the notification “Chrome OS is missing or damaged”
- Insert the USB flash drive or SD card which you already created the recovery media
- Operating system automatically install and once done you will see the message to remove your recovery media
- After removed your recovery media, Chromebook will be reboot automatically and you can sign in to your Chromebook without any issues
